K3 (V3)
Highball Wall, The Airstrip, Waitomo
K3 is a standout line in the Waikato climbing scene. It carries the character of a classic New Zealand highball limestone problem: technical, bold, and rewarding for those who put in the work. It’s the kind of climb people quietly talk about — not always the flashiest, but a true test of finesse and grit.
The Airstrip is a well-loved limestone bouldering area nestled in the Waitomo region. It offers a great range of low- to mid-grade problems, so it’s very accessible.
The limestone offers good friction, polished by years of weathering. Expect delicate smears, sharp slopers, and technical face climbing.
The setting is rural and scenic; it’s on private farmland (Stubbs farm) so access requires permission from landowners, and there’s a small koha suggested.
